This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope and pray that you are well and hopefully surviving this heat! When I saw that it was only going to be 90 degrees on Saturday, I breathed a sigh of relief, which is a little bit funny. It's been hot, and so I will take this personal moment to complain about the heat, which, as a southerner, is one of my unalienable rights.

I want to invite folks once again to Sunday school for both children and adults. Our children are following a lectionary-based program and Godly Play, which you all already know about. Our adult class will continue teaching about the rise of Christian Nationalism in the United States. Turnout has been amazing, but all are welcome; if you haven't been, we promise you can jump right in. If we grow out of the Garden Room, we can always move to the Parish Hall.

I love the beginning of a new program year. While hectic, it is fun to have Sunday mornings filled with energy. From the craziness of the blessing of the backpacks to Sunday school classrooms filled with people eager to learn, to the start of our annual MORE Justice cycle, to so much more, everything swirls together—co-existing, and growing is a sign of community. You all make this community holy by your presence, your faith, and your prayers. It is fun to be a part of! Thank you.

Peace,

Mitch
