This Week from Mitch
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope and pray that you are well. It's hard for me to believe, but as I write this on July 17, I realize that the summer is almost over. In less than a month, our program year kicks off, and teachers and children will return to school. The dog days of summer must be referring to greyhounds because this summer seems to have gone by fast!
Yesterday, I had a 4-hour drive after dropping Lydia off at a running camp. Partway through the drive, I turned the radio off and just drove in silence. It allowed me to reflect on this summer. This summer has been a season of activity, from family bowling days to baseball games, from Martineers lunches to tomato tastings. It's been a summer of mission and ministry: adult and youth mission trips, refugee ministries, and food collections. It's been a summer of worship, with a lay preaching series that has truly been phenomenal. In short, it has been a summer of perpetual motion as we, as a church, seek to be the body of Christ in the world.
I am grateful to be in constant motion with you as a fellow seeker. I am thankful that together we seek to welcome all. I am excited to listen to the Holy Spirit and seek to find where we will be guided next.
In Christ,
Mitch
