This Week from Mitch
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope and pray that you all are well. This Sunday is Youth Sunday. Our seniors will lead the 10:30 AM service. To be honest with you all, I imagine it will be a Sunday filled with emotion for me. It has been a pleasure to watch these young people grow up. They are each amazing. They are the first class I have been able to watch go all the way from middle school to the end of high school. They are also the first class to have fully benefited from the Clark Fund.
As many of you know, the late Mary Clark endowed our youth program. That endowment has enabled many of these young people to hike the Camino de Santiago, do mission work, travel to Ecuador, and do hurricane relief work this summer in Asheville, NC. For this, I am deeply grateful.
Mary, not having any children of her own, took the baptismal vow, "So you promise to do all in your power to support this child in their life in Christ?" very seriously. In a way, she did her best to support every child of St. Martin's for as long as she possibly could. I pray that, following her example, you all might come out this weekend to hear from and support our youth. Come out and let them know that even though they will be going to college, in many cases far away, they will always have a spiritual home here at St. Martin's.
In Christ,
Mitch
