This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope you are well! Yesterday, I had the fun experience of serving at the commencement for Heathwood Hall. Heathwood's tradition is to begin each school year with a school-wide celebration of Holy Eucharist. At the service, Heathwood Hall was celebrating its 75th year. What I didn't know until recently was that Heathwood Hall and St. Martin's both shared space at the now-gone Heathwood mansion, since we were both started at the same time. As I understand it, we even shared preschools for a time. Knowing this history made the service all the more meaningful.

That's right, St. Martin's continues to celebrate our 75th year: 75 years of worship and service to our community, diocese, and the world around us, 75 years of mission and ministry. This Sunday, I want to invite you to a potluck after church, where we will kick off our annual stewardship campaign. At the lunch, I will ask you to participate in the ministry of giving to St. Martin's. Your stewardship helps us gather in worship, welcome all, and do our best to serve as the hands and feet of Christ in the world. Please come and enjoy the food. Please come and listen to our presentations. Then please prayerfully consider giving to this church as we prepare for our next 75 years.

Peace,

Mitch
