This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope this email finds you well. In the announcements, you will see that several of our children's programs are shifting as we move into our summer programming. This transition offers us a good moment to say thank you. I particularly want to thank Angela Adams and Mary Virginia Tynan. For the last few years, they have faithfully taught our third, fourth, and fifth graders on Sunday mornings. Their dedication to this ministry has been truly inspiring. I am, as I am sure every parent is, deeply grateful to them. Thank you both!

While I am on a theme of gratitude, let me also say, thank you to all of our teachers. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week in schools across South Carolina. I am convinced that teaching is more than a job; it is a calling. This belief is supported by scripture: in Romans 12, the ability to teach is listed as one of the gifts given by the Holy Spirit. It's a gift not everyone has, and, sadly, it's undervalued in our society. It may not seem like much, but I encourage everyone, not just parents of kids in school, to thank a teacher this week. Your appreciation may be a boost they need at the end of the year, and it's just nice. So once again, thank you, teachers, you truly are loved and appreciated.

Peace,

Mitch
