Assistant Preschool Teacher
Under the direction of the St. Martin's Preschool director, the church rector and the classroom’s lead teacher, an Assistant Teacher will provide quality care to children, helping maintain a safe and engaging place for them to learn and play. Assistant teachers will assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and maintaining a safe, neat and welcoming classroom.
+ Responsibilities
- Help implement lesson plans and supervise children
- Support lead teacher in managing class behavior and leading small group activities
- Help gather supplies and prepare the classroom for lessons
- Lead class with the help of a substitute teacher is lead teacher is absent
- Assist with feeding and diapering children as necessary
- Clean and sterilize toys and equipment daily
- Attend Staff Meetings
- Complete DSS required training each year

+ Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience in a licensed child care facility required
- Early Childhood Education Credential (ECD 101 from a Technical College) - Will sponsor the right candidate on TEACH scholarship.

License/Certification:
- CPR Certification Required and can be provided within 30 days of hire
- 15-hour Health and Safety Pre-service certificate required within 30 days of hire or completion on ECD 101 required
